My Style | Red

I like how red the look looks. The jumper is actually orange but paired with the skirt looks a bit reddish. Asda make the best jumpers, this snuggly one is all fuzz. Pair a fuzzy sweater with a faux fur stole for extra texture. Look for the week. Photo by @prabhy_b on instagram.

Trend | Pleat Skirts

Pleats please. Pleat skirts are back in and being worn with every look from monochrome to outerwear and in between. This proportions look with crop knit, crop mini bag and maxi pleat skirt is just the many ways of wearing the trend. How will you be wearing yours?

Lupita Nyong'o looked chic in a yellow Mansur Gavriel coat. Worn with yellow bag with red heel combo. The actress sported her usual natural hair to accessorise the look.

My Style | Crop Pants

Nothing jazzes up an outfit like a crop pair of pants. Team them with other prints for more joy. These jersey pants by Zara look great with other prints such as this top and the snakeskin print shoes. The headwrap is the go to fun piece in the outfit but nothing jazzes up an outfit like a crop pair of pants.

My Style | Retro

Dress by way of vintage. I like styling vintage pieces and bringing them up to date with modern pieces. Here I'm wearing vintage dress with turtleneck and faux fur wrap. I like how the stripes of the top work with the colors in the dress and with the stripe of color in the faux fur. Retro doesn't need to be retro retro. Retro can be retro modern.

The detail on this dress is stunning. The flounced leather and feather piece is so exacting in detail only Karl could have designed it. The craftsmanship is wonderful.

Style Look | Tamu McPherson

It is the denim boiler suit, it is the round Chanel bag,  it is the cobalt blue booties. Tamu has got it going on and dare I say in one of this season's trends, the boiler suit. All over the fashion weeks, the one piece has all eyes on it.

Style Tip | Scarves

I have loved a good print scarf for a long time. I'm a headwrap kind of girl. So me and scarves go hand in hand. I love that scarves are having a moment. Wear them on your head under a hat, wrap your head with it alone, wear it around your neck or your wrist. However you wear it, wear a scarf today. It is having a moment.

Object of Affection | Zara Box Bag

Currently doing the granny chic look. Ya know, twinsets, pearls and heritage checks. The above box bag by Zara would fit in quite nicely into that look. Box bags are always a good thing. You can never have a box bag too many.

Trend | Jewellery Trends 2019

Jewellery is huge for spring summer 2019. It is the season of jewellery if there ever was a season.

Perhaps two of the biggest jewellery trends is the mismatched earring and in other cases the single earring. Ulla Johnson did the former with a shell earring in one ear and irregular gold hoop in the other. Marni did the single earring which seems to be championed by many a fashion house.

Over at Marni, Chloe and Alexa Chung to name a few, there were ankle bracelets. At the latter it was cleverly and very delicately worn over ankle socks.

Just as ankles were adorned so are arms. Armani and Balmain had cube like oversize bangles stacked for effect.

Elsewhere where there was a stacked effect was brands like Chloe and Chanel who stacked numerous necklaces. Pearls were stacked with logo bedecked pieces which were layered over precious stone necklaces.

Talking  necklaces, it was heavy chains at Marni and Hermes whilst tasselled at Miu Miu.

Kostadinov and Alexander Wang didn't leave the model's faces out the jewellery game. Jewelled face guards and masks seem to inspire Gucci autumn winter  2019 collection.

Body jewellery harking back to the early noughties was worn with revealing clothes at Donatella's Versace.

Fashion Houses like Prada and Miu Miu had bow designed jewellery which has trickled down to the high street with brands like H&M.

The feather trend for 2019 is not just reserved for garments but brands such as Longchamp and Loewe had feathered earrings which floated from models ears giving the range a global citizen feel.

Similar to the feather trend is the seashell trend which has trickled over from winter 2018 with necklines, ears and ankles being adorned with shells. Brands such as Sportmax and Etro were just two such brands that sported this trend.

Earrings hoop wise were not as we know them with them being nonchalant and colorful at Matty Bowan, leather and layered at Loewe and other fashion houses like Balenciaga played with the traditional hoop.

Everyday items such as clothing pegs, a fork and more were fashioned into jewellery on the Catwalk. Versace did the former and Coach the latter.

Over at Prabal Gurang and a host of other brands there were intricate ear cuffs lining ears whereas rings were in focus at Dries Van Noten and Marc Jacobs. The former colourist showed his knack for color and texture in the mismatched rings which seem to point us where fashion wants us to go this season; mismatched, irregular and stacked.
