Liking the whole mishmash of tracksuits, Tartan, prints, stripes and faux fur. This Amsterdam collection is so 90s but simultaneously 2018. Presented at Amsterdam fashion week the collection is perfect for Streetstyle lovers who take inspiration from bloggers and show attending editors alike. The label had a pop up store in Amsterdam from 18th of September to 23rd. No doubt it was brimming with sassy inspiration. More on the brand here.
My Style | Animal Instinct
What do you get when you cross a Zebra print with a Leopard print? I'm not quite sure but what I know for sure is turbans make everything better.
Event | Method UK & Clothes Aid Slow Fashion Pop Up Shop
Don't you just love a pop up shop? And if it is a pop up venture that gives back all the better. Method UK (known for their sustainable vegan earth friendly detergents) and Clothes Aid (they collect unwanted pre loved clothes and accessories and the proceeds go to their partner charities) have come together to open a two day pop up store where pre loved garments from the likes of Millie Mackintosh etc will be on sale. You can even take your own pre loved garments and customise or donate them. All proceeds from the event will go to Clothes Aid partner charities - including Action for Children. The Slow Fashion pop up store is to encourage the nation to be more economical friendly and sustainable with 300,000 garments going to landfill instead of donated to a charity.
This fun and environmentally sustainable event will happen on the 16th and 17th of October at 189 Shoreditch high street, London. For more on Method UK visit their site here and Clothes Aid here.
My Style | Beanie
Nothing like pairing a dress with trainers. A warm jumper via Asos beneath the dress and the mustard beanie kept things snuggly.
My Style | Animal Print
Animal print is everywhere this season. From cat prints to snakeskin, there is no escaping this trend. In this photo I'm wearing said trend in a layered look because animal print is now a neutral.
Trend | Layered outerwear
This season is all about outerwear. Layering your outerwear. Athleisure hoodies with faux fur coats. Rain coats beneath fuzzy teddy coats etc. Keep it modern with a clever balance of layers. The sportswear pieces will lend a contemporary air to the look.
Object Of Affection | Jacquemus Spring Summer 2019
I'm crushing hard on all things Jacquemus. Last season it was the oversize straw hat. It's the easy breezy separates in neutrals, the swimwear and the straw meets raffia oversize bag.
Beauty Icon | Zoe Kravitz
Whether she's wearing micro braids or rocking a pixie platinum blonde coin, Zoe Kravitz inspires with her beauty looks. Her signature full brow frames her beautiful face and styles such as undercuts and low crops do nothing to detract from her beauty.
Catwalk | Altuzarra Spring Summer 2019
The Altuzarra spring summer 2019 collection left me feeling happy and optimistic. The collection featuring mainly separates in summery hues of pinks, orange, yellow and pale blue showed slashed open tops with matching coordinating bikini tops beneath them. Lightweight leathers in equally pieces together patchwork. This was an all summer collection. Video via FF on YouTube.
Art | Flower Power
I like how this edit to my photo by @kof4art makes it look like an old photograph. It lends a retro vibe to an already vintage inspired outfit.
Catwalk | Area Spring Summer 2019
I love the styling of this collection. The headwraps over visors, the mismatched earrings, the vanity case like handbags. All genius, genius I tell. It feels really Carrie Bradshaw New York circa the naughties. It feels really fresh.
My Style | Print
A humble check print circa 70s inspiration meets an animal print meets another print via my scarf. I think prints have more fun when put together. Why wear one when you can wear three in a go.
Photo | Adventures in turban
I was never too far from a scarf that I can tie into a headwrap. There's something comforting about a turban tied by yourself.
Catwalk | Escada Spring Summer 2019
According to Vogue, the inspiration was 'Working Girl' and 'Pretty Woman'. The feel was the late 80s, early 90s and the mood was exuberant. Escada's got me wanting to dress up with their color blocking, focus on the shoulder and waist and logo mania.
Trend | Lisa Folawaiyo
She has uncanny way of designing clever pieces. Nigerian designer Lisa Folawaiyo is the go to designer for garments that piece together last inducing prints that are cut in her unexpected way. For spring summer 2018 the ever resplendent designer (her instagram is mouthwatering good) crafts a wrapper dress which is reminiscent of the wearing of cloth wrapped around ones body in most parts of Africa. Folawaiyo's ability to fuse the clever with the graphic print and sass of sophistication of ladies who lunch is her genius.
Object of Affection | Clip on earrings
I'm having a love affair with the clip on earrings from Zara. They hands down make the best costume jewellery on the high street. Everything from dangling diamanté pieces to oversize gold tone designs, their earrings it's were its at.
My Style | Sass
I love a bargain that I know is going to become a wardrobe favorite. Both these pieces add a bit more fun to any outfit.
Shopping | Dress
First spotted this western style dress in a magazine and was pleasantly surprised at the price and brand. Love when a piece looks high fashion when in this case it's just a supermarket brand. Run, don't walk to snap this piece for twenty pounds. For the win.
My Style | Check
Joy is a check print. Joy is a pair vintage pants with what seems to be the perfect print. Love is wearing them together with suede boots that fill in the gap for the cropped length of the pants. Love is an outfit like this.
Beauty | Nefertari
Eye makeup continues to become as ingenious as can be with this look from Lucy Magazine being refreshing.
